Garnet Lake below Banner Peak is only one of many destinations in the Ansel Adams Wilderness. This hike was planned as a two night backpacking trip to Garnet and 1000 Island Lake.

After a windy night the Sierra gave us a demonstration on how quickly the weather can change in the mountains. 1000 Island Lake was cancelled and we reached the trailhead just in time to enjoy the hail from the car.
