Cathedral Valley is located in the northern section of the park. It is accessible by a 4-wheel-drive road. Jeeps can be rented in nearby Torrey.

The best time for Upper Cathedral Valley is sunset. Stay at the Cathedral Valley campground, which is about a mile from Upper Cathedral Valley Overlook.
